Transfer Rumours Roundup - 29/08/2016

Naturally with the Oliver Burke windfall and the “promise” that Fawaz would channel the funds back into the squad, there is a lot of talk about bringing in new players. The worry is that there is further Britt Assombalonga leaving talk. Here is a roundup of the names linked.

The very possible
Bakary Sako
Bakary Sako
The powerful winger from Crystal Palace has been lined before with Forest. He hasn’t really made the Premier League breakthrough with Palace, and would look to be available. He tore the division up at Wolves with Benik Afobe, being chosen in the Team of the year. With the previous held interest and his apparent availability, it would seem a very strong link. At 28 he is getting any younger, but his power would be reminiscent of Michail Antonio.

Nicolao Dumitru

Nicolao Dumitru
A name so out of left field there must be something to it. The 24 year Sweden-born Italian plays for Napoli, but has only ever featured in less than a dozen games spending the large part of his career out on loan. Has spent time in Greece and Serie B. Can play as a winger or attack. The word is that he is very quick with fast acceleration (FIFA stats anyway). That’s about as much as anyone knows except that he is not prolific with only 7 goals last season, admittedly for one of Serie B’s weaker teams, Latina.

Callum McManaman

Callum Mcmanaman
West Brom actively want to sell the midfielder, and Newcastle and Hull have been sniffing around the former Wigan player, who cost West Brom close to £5mill 18 months ago. Would be a good signing, and at age 24 we would have him at his peak. May try to stick it out for a Premier League club, but if we strike now whilst the deadline looms would be a good deal for the Scouser.

The Maybe’s

Alan Pulido
Alan Pulido
A Mexican attacker playing for Olympiacos. The link is there entirely presumably because of Olympiakos and Marinakis. Pulido is notable for having been kidnapped at gun point and having overpowered one of the gunmen. Pulido again isn’t prolific in his past. The 25 year old has 6 caps for Mexico. I am not sure how people would think therefore we would get a work permit for him, so I see this as unlikely

Nicklas Bendtner
I saw one or two suggest the Danish striker, currently a free agents name as a link. His wage demands would likely be excessive and there are serious question marks about his temperament, At 28 his potential has faded a hell of a lot. Brings an element of the “circus” with him, which would likely fit very well with the recent debacles at the City Ground
Jinty Caenepeel

Jinty Caenepeel
Belgian striker playing in Holland for FFC Eindhoven. The 20 year was linked with Barnsley this summer, even training with the squad, but it appears the Yorkshire club refused to pay the requested £500k that Eindhoven want. It would appear very like the Veldwijk deal, which worries me as the Dutch second division is not very good at all. He scored 15 goals for Eindhoven last season.  Again the suggestion is he is pacey. I can’t see this one happening

The Not Happenings

Danny Ings
Name linked as part of a likely Burke deal had we sold to Liverpool. Klopp has said there is still a future for Ings, and he only made his England debut last year so would likely attract attention of one the Premier leagues lower half clubs, maybe even Burnley again.

Patrick Bamford
Name being mentioned a lot, but Sean Dyche said 2 days ago a deal for Bamford at Burnley was imminent.
