The First Transfer Rumour Thread of the Off-Season

Vellios

Apostolos Vellios
Of course following Greek investment in Forest (although not formally or officially recognised) comes a potential Greek signing. The former Everton youngster never really got going on Merseyside before returning home, but Forest  are reported to be all but about to announce him as the first acquisition of the new regime.

Floyd Ayite
Togolese international Floyd plays in Ligue 1 for Bastia. Like with Velios and the Greeks, French based players are likely to be linked with us after appointing a French manager yesterday in Philippe Montanier. A winger, Ayite had apparently attracted Premiership interest. The little I can gather from his Wiki is that for his age(27) he hasn’t made as many appearances as you’d expect. However Wiki isn’t always the best source for this. Although he plays for Togo he is French born.

Vukcevic
Nikola Vukčević
Montenegro holding midfielder, I think this link purely stems from Pedro Perriera having previously been at Braga, and probably being available, and the need for new holding midfielders.  Any further is not known other than in 2 years he hasn’t made a vast number of appearances, but would probably be dirt cheap. He has 16 Montenegro caps.

Sebastian Larsson
Lazy linking again possibly, but he has just been released by Sunderland. This is the type of player that usually flops for us, coming to us for a final pay day, rather than the chance of career resurrection. Larsson is a dead ball specialist, which would be a nice novelty seeing as we haven’t had one of those in ages. One assumes wage demands would be above what would be realistic.

Sturgeon
Fabio Sturgeon
22 year old Portuguese/English midfielder playing for Belenenses. His name was linked today with a move by the media. A Portuguese u-21 international, he played in the Europa League for Belenenses, as they exited in the Group Stage. In the past two seasons he has become more a fixture in the side, and with Forest looking at midfielders, the Portguese link with Perriera is obvious, whilst having English parentage would hopefully see him as a player who’d settle down quickly.
