Well, a 0-0, but not a totally boring 0-0. The game had its exciting moments, and either team might have thought they could take the win, but make no mistake a draw was a fair result.
QPR were set up to stop us being able to play, regularly closing down straight away and not allowing space. Forest often struggling to make the killer pass through the lone striker of Blackstock, who struggled against his former side, though did have a good effort in the second half, but also picked up a deserved yellow card. Blackstock was isolated up front, with Forest playing a sole striker at home that frustrated some fans where I sat.
Both teams could and should have had penalties. Neither team got them. QPR had a number of long range efforts through the ever dangerous Adel Taarabt. The closest one being a clever chip that nearly caught on Camp in goal. Most of his efforts though were wide or over.
The closest effort of the first half was from QPR, Walker heading on goal, for a good save from Camp. Forest in the first half created very little.
The second half and Forest looked better, especially when we went to two up front with Adebola looking strong and finally starting to win over critics. Our closest effort was a McGugan shot saved by the much maligned Paddy Kenny, who got a lot of abuse from the fans. McGugans shot also appeared to deflect off Earnshaw it looked like and that helped Kenny save it.
All in all a frustrating game, but a point against the team top of the table who came here trying not to lose their run is to be praised. This was a risky game in continuing the home form. Fortress City Ground remains, and Forest remain close to the playoffs, just 2 points outside
