Forest 2 v 0 Ipswich Town

There will be one main talking point for most people when they get to work or wherever tomorrow and that will be did you see THAT goal? Adn rightly so as it was a wonder strike by Lewis McGugan that put Forest two ahead in this game. Johnny Metgod would have been proud of that belter.
Anyway, there was more to this game than one goal, for a start there was Forests first goal. A wonderful move down the left wing finished off by David McGoldrick making a home start for the Reds. He did mind you try his hardest to put it wode. Cohens run down the left wing and subsequent cross laying it on a plate for McGoldrick made it impossible to miss really.
Forest all first half played good flowing football. Cohen coming back to top form and Gunter adjusting well to be being played down the left, shifting to cover for the suspended Bertrand. Wilson was back in the side and he too looked very assured and confident at the back.
The 3 attacking midfielders played their free roles very well, getting forward at all opportunities and playing some nice football around. Helped by an Ipswich team who didn't try to nullify Forest, but to also play football. Too often we fail to break down teams who set up to stop flowing football, but this game was not one of those.
Ipswich too had their chances, notably a blocked effort surely heading, coming off the back of Chambers, Ipswich should probably have scored, but Camp was on form when the ball did get past the defence.
The free kick came after a cynical foul by Leadbitter on Cohen. It seemed impossibly far out and I did say to me friend "why is hew trying to shoot from there?" Well McGugan was trying it because he can score 35 yard belters like that.
The second half saw Ipswich have an increased amount of efforts on goal. Camp remain resilient to their threat. Forest too had chances, notably Cohen latching on to a ball from 20 yards or so, his low drilled shot being saved by Fulop.
Tyson had a couple of runs when he came on that he should have done better with, and should have had a penalty when fouled in the area, but the appeals were waved away by the ref.
There was also a delay when Lee Camp got injured. And soon after an Ipswich fan had a foiled attempt to get on the pitch.
Overall it was a good win for Forest against handy opposition. Two wins in a row will give confidence going into the next away match and with a number of tricky fixtures coming up it was will be a test of where we really are right now.
